Take advantage of the warm, early Autumn weather and enjoy the four remaining 'Music in Quiet Places' concerts, in some of the most picturesque villages in North Northamptonshire.

The unparalleled setting of Fotheringhay Church, on Friday 10th September at 8pm, sees the sub-organist of Westminster Abbey, Robert Quinney, give a rousing organ recital on the fabulous Vincent Woodstock organ, with a programme of music by Mozart, Byrd, Mendelssohn, Gardner and Bach?s famous Toccata and Fugue.

The distinguished concert pianist, James Lisney, takes time out of his busy international performance schedule, to give a recital to mark the bicentenaries of two great composers, Chopin and Schumann, at Polebrook Church on Friday 17th September, 8pm.

And the tiny, beautiful church at Thurning, near Barnwell, is the setting for a performance on Friday 24th September, 8pm, by the talented young Kudos Percussion Duo playing an array of instruments from marimbas to African drums, and from shimmering chimes to cowbells in a programme featuring music written specifically for percussion duo alongside arrangements of music by Chopin, Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel.

Finally, the acclaimed string trio, Kosmos, play a programme of folk-jazz fusion at Woodnewton Church on Friday 8th October, an event so popular it is already sold out.
